Inquiring Minds Want To Know Giveaway…

Good afternoon everyone and Happy Hump Day!

I know that it’s been a while since I’ve done an Inquiring Minds Want To Know, what with real life and the 25 Days of Christmas, but I must admit that when I was driving home last week, a question popped into my mind. Well, let me back up a bit. First, I hope that everyone enjoyed the 25 Days of Christmas Blog Hop and congrats to all of the winners. For those of you who won print books, please contact us at [email protected] if you haven’t already done so, and we’ll get your prize sent out. We’ll need your mailing address. Please don’t leave it in the comments section.

Second, I’m doing a little “site” cleaning to make sure that we didn’t forget to announce a winner to a contest, so you may see some posts given how crazy things have been. This will hopefully bring us current and move straight ahead into 2012 full force.

Finally, as I’ve been reading and writing reviews of all genres and trying to catch up, I started to wonder what qualities my readers looked for in a hero in real life. We indulge all of these romance novels that describe how the hero is tall, dark, mysterious and completely alpha versus those who are kind with a heart of gold but can keep you moaning in bed for hours on end. And once again, it led me to the question, what are our readers looking for in a real life hero? For those of you who have found your real life hero tell us a little about his good and bad qualities? For those of us who are still looking, what turns you on in a hero, but also what turns you off?  In essence, what are you looking for in real life?

You don’t have to answer all of them, just one will do. And if you do respond in the comments section, here’s what’s up for grabs.

Rocky Mountain Haven Forever in One Second The Scarred Heir Demon's Caress Runner

Devon's Pair Boots and Chaps The Given & the Taken Cole Closing the Deal

I have found my real life hero. my husband of almost 30 years. For me the outside package really isn’t that important, although I like big men, Skinny little boys just don’t do it for me.The traits I love most in my husband are his ability to find humor in every situation,His outgoing nature (so opposite from my introverted personality) His unwavering support of me, and his unconditional love. He’s a prince I know, sorry ladies he’s mine!

I do want a hero who has a sense of humor and who is trustworthy. If I can’t trust or laugh with him it wouldn’t last.

I love big men. And a sense of humor and compassion are so important i a relationship. Now if he’s wearing a kilt and has a sexy brogue that just makes him completely perfect. :)

Haven’t found my hero yet, but what attracts me to the ones I read about are their larger than life personalities. Of course it’s also a bonus to find someone that has a great physique, but I really enjoy the ones that go after what they want and aren’t afraid to show off what they have (meaning me).

For me, a “real life” hero should be devoted to his family. Have a sense of humor and supportive.

    Thanks,

My Hero would have a love of animals and especially Horses. Should be a willing helpmate with a awesome sense of home and family. Humor, honorable, and love America.

Looks have never been important when I look at a guy. What makes a man a ‘hero’ in my eyes is how he treats me. Is he different when we are alone away from others? does he listen when I talk, and not just pretend? he has to have a sense of humor, like kids and animals, and be willing to be silly once in a while. Every really handsome guy I’ve met wants to be sure he is the center of it all, and that doesn’t work for me.

In real life (and mostly in my reading), I love a hero who’s hard-working, generous, smart, and considerate. I want someone who’s willing to do what it takes to make sure that things are done right, that his loved ones are well cared for, whether that’s by chopping wood, getting rid of a villain, overseeing homework, or taking care of his woman in bed :) And if he has a sense of humor, so much the better! Naturally when I read, I don’t mind if the hero’s a hunk, but that external beauty only goes so far if the person behind the face doesn’t live up to the advertising.

I’m thankful to have found my hero–even when we don’t agree, he’s always put my needs/wants before his own. I’m blessed.

I’ve been married my hero going on 37 years now, and fell in love with his sense of humor, kindness, love of family, and after the fact, what a great dad he turned out to be.

My idea of a hero is someone that is willing to be your equal partner and wants a large family. I have a great husband and we were both willing to have that large family but were only able to have two wonderful kids so we both lavished out extra love on our nieces and nephews.

My perfect hero is someone that shares my dreams and hopes. Someone that will make a great father and husband. Someone that will love me for me and help me be the best that I can be like I will help him be his best. Someone that will make me laugh. Someone that will stand by me in the darkest hour until we see the light again. My perfect hero is my soul mate.
NOW if only I could find him!
